Judy Benjamin, a spoiled, sheltered, and wealthy young woman from a privileged background, finds her life turned upside down when her new husband dies suddenly on their wedding night. In a moment of grief and misguided desperation, she impulsively joins the U.S. Army, mistakenly believing it to be a glamorous and easy path. She quickly realizes she has made a terrible mistake, as she struggles hilariously to adapt to the rigorous training, strict discipline, and harsh realities of military life, clashing constantly with her no-nonsense commanding officers.
