Hogan's Heroes (1965)
1965 · Comedy
Set in a German prisoner-of-war (POW) camp, Stalag 13, during World War II, the sitcom follows the seemingly incompetent but secretly highly organized Allied prisoners, led by the charismatic and cunning Colonel Robert Hogan. Under the noses of their bumbling commandant, Colonel Klink, and his dim-witted sergeant, Schultz, Hogan and his men operate an elaborate underground espionage network, using the camp as a base for sabotage, intelligence gathering, and aiding the Allied war effort. The humor arises from the prisoners' ingenious schemes to outwit their captors, their constant manipulation of Klink's ego, and Schultz's blissful ignorance, all while maintaining the illusion of being ordinary, compliant POWs.
